LATRINES

In 2012, Friends of Meali replaced the existing latrines at the Meali Primary School.  The old ones were relatively new, but had already begun cracking and crumbling, so Meali’s Head Teacher asked us to replace them before they caved in.  The new latrines offer more stalls, are more sturdily built, and are properly vented to prevent odor.  Building them required hiring a specialist to dig such a deep hole.  Total cost:  $10,078.  We have now also built laterines at  Oldeani Primary School for the teachers and and a latrine for Losirwa Primary School.
